She explains her struggles, and how she came into this wonderful country as an illegal immigrant. Although having your own perceptions about life is not wrong, the point of this book was to show her struggles and issues going through her young-adult years in life. There were quite a few times within this book that displayed her callous attitude toward her over-generalizations of Americans, or rather 'white people' within this book, that she touched-on. I found that the author had a lot of capability and writing capacity however, I found her put certain topics or issues within her life to come off in undertones toward her perceptions. So - This book is not bad, nor is it all that fantastical. Told in Reyna's exquisite, heartfelt prose, A Dream Called Home demonstrates how, by daring to pursue her dreams, Reyna was able to build the one thing she had always longed for: a home that would endure.
